Who We Are

At Eastville Baptist Church, we believe that every person is created with purpose and deeply loved by God. Our mission is to equip one another with the light of Christ so that we may shine His truth, grace, and love into the lives of those around us. This calling is not merely a task to accomplish, but a joyful journey we walk together as a church family. 

We are committed to the life-transforming message of the gospel—the good news of Jesus Christ as revealed in the unfolding story of the Bible. From Genesis to Revelation, God’s Word speaks of His faithfulness, His justice, His mercy, and His desire to redeem and restore broken lives. At EBC, we gather around this truth every week, eager to hear from God, respond in worship, and live out His calling in our everyday lives.

Rather than holding tightly to the grace God has given us, we strive to extend it freely. Our goal is to be a faithful presence in Eastville and beyond—meeting real needs, offering compassion, and building relationships that reflect the heart of Jesus. We hope to be a place where the hurting can find healing, where the lonely can find community, and where all people can encounter the living God.

At Eastville Baptist Church, our vision is to be a Christ-centered community where every person is transformed by the truth of God's Word and mobilized for His mission. We long to see lives changed—not by programs or personalities, but by the power of the gospel of Jesus Christ. In a world searching for meaning, we exist to point people to the hope, peace, and purpose that can only be found in Him.

We believe that following Jesus is a lifelong journey of growth. Our vision is to cultivate a community where believers are nurtured in their faith through worship, biblical teaching, prayer, and meaningful relationships. We are committed to discipleship that goes beyond surface-level religion. Through the work of the Holy Spirit and the foundation of Scripture, we aim to equip every believer to become mature in Christ—grounded in truth, growing in love, and faithful in obedience.

Our church is not just here for ourselves. We are here for Eastville and the surrounding communities. We desire to be a beacon of light—serving with compassion, offering hope to the broken, and standing boldly for truth. Meet Our Team

Our Beliefs

We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God—fully God and fully man. He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. In Him, God perfectly revealed Himself to the world.

Jesus lived a sinless life and willingly offered Himself as the substitute for our sins through His death on the cross. His sacrifice made full atonement for the sins of all who would trust in Him.

On the third day, He rose bodily from the grave, demonstrating His victory over sin and death. He ascended into heaven and is now seated at the right hand of the Father, where He reigns as Lord and intercedes for believers.

We believe that Jesus will return personally and visibly in glory to judge the living and the dead and to bring His Kingdom to completion.
Salvation is found in Christ alone, by grace alone, through faith alone.

As Scripture declares:

“Jesus said, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.’” – John 14:6

Short Summary 

Jesus Christ is the Son of God, our Savior and Lord. He lived a sinless life, died for our sins, rose again on the third day, and reigns forever. Through faith in Him alone, we receive forgiveness and eternal life.


What We Believe About the Bible

We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God—completely true, trustworthy, and without error in its original writings. It was written by men who were divinely guided by the Holy Spirit and reveals God’s perfect plan for His creation and for our salvation through Jesus Christ.

The Bible is our supreme authority for what we believe and how we live. It is the final word in all matters of faith, doctrine, and daily conduct. Every page of Scripture points us to Jesus, the living Word, and teaches us how to walk faithfully with Him.

We believe that the Scriptures are sufficient and complete, containing everything we need to know God, to grow in godliness, and to carry out His mission in the world.

As Scripture says:

“All Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching, for rebuking, for correcting, for training in righteousness.” — 2 Timothy 3:16–17

and the Baptist General Association of Virginia (BGAV)

These connections allow us to join hands with other churches across the Eastern Shore, Virginia, and beyond — working together to share the hope of Jesus, support missions, and strengthen local ministries. We value these relationships because they remind us that we’re part of something bigger than ourselves — the growing Kingdom of God.
